What a fantastic experience we had when we were in Broome Western Australia recently – well in fact it was May 2022. Without our caravan in tow we flew from Sydney to Darwin with a couple of nights spent in Darwin before travelling via Air North to Kununurra and then onto Broome. You might ask why we flew instead of taking our caravan this time? Well, due to the 2021 Covid lockdowns we were unable to take our Kimberley Coast Cruise which we had booked with our incredible travel agent Sarah Fenton – MTA Travel Agent. However, we were fortunate enough to be able to reschedule and depart our cruise on 17th June 2022. – More on our cruise at a later blog post.
Broome what a wonderful destination Western Australia has on offer. For a few nights we were to stay at the “Conti” which is set amongst peaceful, tropical gardens. Our room was a comfortable cool retreat with modern amenities.
Now, here is what we really wanted to boast about. The staff at the “Conti” suggested we try Papa Feugo’s for a meal.
Not knowing what to expect we were able to walk from the “Conti” to Papa Feogo’s, a 5 minute walk. Dressed to impressed we walked in and were greeted by a most gracious and gorgeous young female maître d‘ who directed us to the bar for a pre-dinner drink. The bar staff were delightful with plenty of conversation with us and not just a matter of serving us a drink.
At our allotted seating time we were taken to our table and the menu was presented to us. Not knowing what to order, we just went for it.
Our meal was a well-prepared delectable meal with great presentation and a wonderful South American flavour all without having to be in South America.
This meal and entire experience was without a doubt one of the most delectable dishes we have ever had the privilege of experiencing.
We look forward to visiting Broome again one day where we will make sure that a visit to Papa Feugo’s will be on the list of places to visit again.
NB: You must book as to just turn up you may be disappointed.
